Tampa Bay Comic Con 2019: What You Need To Know

The Tampa Bay Comic Con returns this year August 2nd through August 4th at the Tampa Bay Convention Center. There are a number of events, exhibitors, and special guests over the course of the weekend.

The convention is a family event, so children 12 and under get free admission. For the adults, Friday admission is $30, Saturday admission is $40, and Sunday admission is $30. The best value for your dollar though is to get the three-day pass for $60. Even if there is a job keeping you busy on Friday, the pass saves you money on the weekend.

Guests this year are an amazing line up of stars from a variety of different franchises and fandoms. From Michael Rooker (Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy), to Bonnie Wright (Ginny in Harry Potter), to Creed Bratton (Creed from The Office), fans of all ages will have someone to look forward to.

The celebrity guests will be participating in Q&A panels, signing autographs, and participating in photo-ops. These events will give the fans an opportunity to interact with some of their favorite characters from beloved TV shows, movies, and series.

Are you feeling the love tonight? Fans will have two opportunities to combine their love for all things fandom with their love life. First is “Nerdy Speed Dating”, where attendees can speed date with other fans. There are five sessions every day. Have you already found your special someone? Get married or renew your vows at Tampa Bay Comic Con! Friday, from 1 p.m. to midnight, Pandamonium Events will be hosting weddings and vow renewal. Wedding parties should attend in cosplay with wedding license in hand, and they will handle the rest.

One of the most popular events at the convention is the cosplay competition. There are a number of different of categories, covering TVs, movies, and anime, including a separate one for kids’ cosplay. The prizes range from $50 to $500 dollars.

If you are looking to have some fandom fun in downtown Tampa this weekend, head over to the convention center for Tampa Bay Comic Con.
